Movie this Friday: Rani Mukerji makes a comeback with ‘Hichki’, here’s all you need to know – We last saw Rani Mukerji kicking a** in the 2014 film Mardaani. Post that, the actress was away from the limelight and the showbiz, especially after the birth of her daughter Adira. Now that Adira is a little older, the actress decided to return to her first love i.e., acting with a very special film titled Hichki. Rani will be back on the silver screens after about four years with Hichki, which revolved around the story of Naina Mathur, who’s suffering from a speech disorder called the Tourette’s Syndrome. The person suffering from this disorder makes some involuntary sounds while speaking or otherwise

The film essentially talks about turning one’s weaknesses into their strengths and emerging victorious in the battles of life, despite the obstacles. A Yash raj Films’ production, Hichki is based on the life of a Brad Cohen, who has the Tourette’s syndrome. It showcases the inspiring journey of a person who aspires to become a teacher, despite his speech defect.

Hichki has been directed by We Are Family fame Siddharth P Malhotra. Rani has left no stones unturned in the promotions of the film. The actress has once again taken up a challenging character and an important story for the masses. Made at a modest budget of approx Rs 20 crore, the film is expected to open around the figure of Rs 1.50 to 2 crore, considering its niche appeal. A positive word of mouth can go a long way in boosting the business of the film.

Along with Hichki, a small budget film titled Baa Baaa Black Sheep will also hit the theatres this Friday. Hichki will also face competition from films like Raid and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
